Mon Nov 25 21:37:49 UTC 2024: ## 13-Year-Old Cricket Prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi Fetches Record Price at IPL Mega Auction

**Jaipur, India** – Thirteen-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi created history at the IPL Mega Auction, becoming the youngest player ever to be sold in the tournament’s history. The Rajasthan Royals secured his services for a whopping ₹1.1 crore (approximately $133,000 USD), significantly exceeding his base price of ₹30 lakh.

Suryavanshi, a left-handed batsman known for his powerful hitting, hails from Bihar. The bidding war between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals drove the price up, ultimately resulting in Rajasthan’s victory.

The young cricketer recently garnered international attention for scoring a century in an Under-19 Test match against Australia in Chennai. His 104-run innings, achieved in just 62 balls (with a century in 59 balls), was the fastest Youth Test hundred by an Indian and the second fastest globally.

Despite a less impressive showing in his T20 debut for Bihar in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (13 runs off 6 balls), Suryavanshi’s talent is undeniable. He previously made headlines for his Ranji Trophy debut at the age of 12, making him the youngest player ever to feature in the prestigious tournament.

Suryavanshi’s father, Sanjeev Suryavanshi, a former aspiring cricketer, expressed his pride in his son fulfilling his own unachieved dreams. The young star’s remarkable journey continues as he embarks on his IPL career with the Rajasthan Royals.
