**New Delhi:** India today launched a year-long celebration marking the 75th anniversary of its Constitution. President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the festivities at the Central Hall of the Parliament House, addressing parliamentarians and reading the Preamble of the Constitution.
The event included the release of new versions of the Constitution in Sanskrit and Marathi by the President. Simultaneously, the Preamble was read in schools, government offices, and across villages and cities nationwide. The celebrations, also attended by the Vice President, Prime Minister, Lok Sabha Speaker, and other dignitaries, further featured a short film on the Constitution, the release of a commemorative stamp and coin, and a book on the Constitution’s creation.
A new website, Constitution75.com, has been launched to educate the public about the Constitution’s heritage and significance. Citizens can upload video recordings of themselves reading the Preamble to the website, which also features versions of the Constitution in all Indian languages. The national motto for the celebrations is “Our Constitution, Our Pride.” The Constituent Assembly adopted the Constitution on November 26, 1949.
