**Srinagar, [Date of Publication]:** Jammu & Kashmir Police have intensified their crackdown on drug trafficking, seizing assets worth ₹3.22 crore from two separate drug trafficking operations.
In Baramulla, police confiscated properties belonging to notorious drug trafficker Rafiq Ahmad Khan, including a two-story house, a tipper truck, a trailer, and a four-wheeler, valued at ₹1.72 crore. The seizure was made under Section 68-E and 68-F (1) of the NDPS Act, 1985, related to an FIR filed in 2016. Investigations revealed these assets were acquired through illegal drug trafficking activities.
Separately, Anantnag police seized ₹1.5 crore worth of assets from two individuals under the NDPS Act. A single-story house worth ₹80 lakh was confiscated from Afraoz Ahmad Bhat, a repeat offender with multiple NDPS cases against him. Three commercial shops worth ₹70 lakh belonging to Peer Asif Ahmad Shah and Peer Tausif Ahmad Shah were also seized; both brothers are under investigation for their involvement in multiple NDPS cases.
Police stated that seizing assets linked to criminal activities under the NDPS Act serves as a strong deterrent against drug trafficking.
