**Harare, Zimbabwe:** Zimbabwe has pulled off a stunning upset victory over Pakistan in the first One Day International (ODI) of their three-match series. Zimbabwe won by 80 runs via the Duckworth-Lewis method after rain interrupted play.
Pakistan, winning the toss and electing to field, restricted Zimbabwe to 205 all out in 40.2 overs. Top scorers for Zimbabwe were Regis Chakabva (48), Sikandar Raza (39), and Tarisai Marumani (29). For Pakistan, Agha Salman and Faheem Ashraf took three wickets apiece.
In reply, Pakistan’s chase was hampered from the start, losing six wickets for just 58 runs. Captain Mohammad Rizwan (19) and Kamran Ghulam (17) were the only batsmen to offer any significant resistance. Sikandar Raza, Sean Williams, and Blessing Muzarabani each claimed two wickets for Zimbabwe.
Rain then halted play with Pakistan struggling at 60/6 after 21 overs. The Duckworth-Lewis method was subsequently applied, resulting in a comprehensive 80-run victory for Zimbabwe. Sikandar Raza was named Player of the Match for his all-round contribution. The series continues with the second ODI.
