**VISAKHAPATNAM, November 25, 2024** – The Visakha Music Academy (VMA) is set to celebrate its 55th anniversary with a week-long music festival, commencing on November 26th and concluding on December 1st at the Kalabharathi Auditorium in Visakhapatnam. The festival, a long-standing tradition promoting classical music and dance in the city, will feature a diverse lineup of renowned musicians from across India.
Performers include vocalists Padmavathi Saranathan, V.K. Manimaran, Modumudi Sudhakar, and Manda Sudharani, violinists M. Nagaraj and Dr. Mysore Manjunath, and veena player Ramana Balachandran. The festival will also honor renowned mridangam player Vid. K.V. Prasad with the prestigious ‘Sangeeta Kalasaagara’ award on November 28th.
The festival’s inauguration ceremony, scheduled for 6:15 p.m. on November 26th, will be presided over by Pawan Kumar Gunturu, MD of Sprint Exports Private Limited and president of the Seafood Exporters’ Association of India. Admission is free, and the VMA encourages music lovers and musicians to attend. The festival is part of VMA’s year-round programming, which also includes monthly concerts and a youth festival.
