**COIMBATORE, November 25, 2024** – President Droupadi Murmu will embark on a four-day tour of Tamil Nadu starting November 27th, visiting the Nilgiris and Tiruvarur. Her itinerary includes engagements with tribal communities and defence personnel.
The President will arrive in Coimbatore on November 27th and travel to the Nilgiris via Indian Air Force helicopter. Trial landings were conducted at Theetukal helipad on Monday. She will reside at Raj Bhavan in Ooty. On November 28th, she will visit the Defence Services Staff College (DSSC) in Wellington, interacting with defence personnel. An interaction with Nilgiri tribal communities is scheduled for November 29th.
The President will depart from Coimbatore on November 30th, flying to Tiruchirappalli before attending the convocation ceremony at the Central University of Tamil Nadu in Tiruvarur.
Extensive security arrangements are underway in the Nilgiris, overseen by Inspector General of Police (West Zone) T. Senthilkumar. A meeting was chaired by Nilgiris District Collector Lakshmi Bhavya Tanneeru to review preparations. Alternative travel arrangements are in place for the President’s journey between Coimbatore and the Nilgiris in case of inclement weather.
