Sun Nov 24 18:13:55 UTC 2024: ## Pakistan Unleashes Three Debutants Against Zimbabwe in ODI Series Opener

**Bulawayo, Zimbabwe:** Pakistan has begun their three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe with a bang, handing maiden caps to Haseebullah Khan, Aamir Jamal, and Faisal Akram in the series opener at Queens Sports Club on Sunday. The match, however, faces the threat of rain interruptions due to overcast conditions.

This series sees a rested Pakistan team, missing key players like Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Naseem Shah. Mohammad Rizwan leads the side in their second ODI series this month, following a 2-1 victory over Australia. The ODIs will be followed by a three-match T20I series at the same venue.

The series marks the first assignment for interim white-ball head coach Aqib Javed, appointed until the 2025 Champions Trophy. The team, which arrived in Zimbabwe on Wednesday, underwent extensive practice sessions before the series. Several squad changes see Abrar Ahmed, Ahmed Daniyal, Shahnawaz Dahani, and Tayyab Tahir replacing Arafat Minhas, Babar Azam, Naseem Shah, and Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Pakistan last played Zimbabwe in an ODI series in November 2020, winning 2-1 at home. This is their first ODI series in Zimbabwe since a 5-0 whitewash in 2018.
