**Jeddah, Saudi Arabia –** Veteran Indian pacer Mohammed Shami has been signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a whopping ₹10 crore in the IPL mega auction. The Sunrisers secured Shami in a close bidding war, narrowly beating out the Kolkata Knight Riders, who offered ₹9.75 crore. Shami, 34, was released by the Gujarat Titans earlier this year after a three-season stint with the franchise. The right-arm quick, who boasts 127 IPL wickets from 109 matches, recently returned from an ankle injury. His IPL career began with the Kolkata Knight Riders, and he’s also played for Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings. This signing marks the Sunrisers’ first acquisition of the day.
