Sun Nov 24 23:55:08 UTC 2024: ## Guy Ritchie’s “In the Grey” Delayed Indefinitely

**LOS ANGELES** – Guy Ritchie’s upcoming action thriller, “In the Grey,” starring Henry Cavill, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Eiza González, has been pulled from its January 17, 2025 release date. Lionsgate announced the delay, citing the film’s unfinished status.

The film, which follows two extraction specialists tasked with ensuring the safe escape of a senior negotiator, was initially unveiled at CinemaCon, where the title was revealed. Ritchie, who also wrote and produced the film alongside Ivan Atkinson and John Friedberg, has a history of collaborations with Lionsgate, including recent releases like “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare” and “Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre.” His previous film, “The Covenant,” also performed moderately well at the box office.

While the delay is a setback, Lionsgate’s recent success with “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” suggests the studio remains confident in its upcoming slate. Cavill, meanwhile, is also slated to star in Lionsgate’s upcoming “Highlander” reboot. A new release date for “In the Grey” has yet to be announced.
