**THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, November 24, 2024** – A new premium restaurant, Cafe Kudumbashree, is set to open next month in Thiruvananthapuram, marking the sixth location for this upscale initiative by the Kudumbashree Mission. Located on the ground floor of a hotel opposite the Government Press, near the Secretariat, the air-conditioned restaurant will seat 40 and offer a diverse menu.

The restaurant, a collaborative venture of two experienced Kudumbashree food units, will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. The menu will feature local Thiruvananthapuram specialties, Malabar snacks, seafood, and plans are underway to include Arabic tandoori grilled dishes. Approximately 15 women will be employed at the new establishment, which will also showcase Kudumbashree’s branded products. Online food delivery services will be offered.

This premium cafe represents an effort to elevate Kudumbashree’s existing food enterprises, which currently include kiosks, canteens, catering services, and smaller Cafe Kudumbashree outlets. The premium model features standardized branding, a logo, uniforms, and software. The Kudumbashree mission provides a 25% grant for these ventures, with the remainder funded through bank loans or self-investment. District officials report significant interest in establishing more premium cafes.
