**Kozhikode, November 25, 2024** – The Krishna Menon Museum and Art Gallery in Kozhikode played host to a vibrant celebration of World Heritage Day on Sunday. The highlight of the event was a captivating performance of *Kandakarnan Thira*, a traditional art form featuring a figure with 14 burning torches, symbolizing humanity’s resilience against contagious diseases like smallpox.
The *Thira* performance was preceded by a solo Kuzhal Pattu, a showcase of the wind instrument usually accompanying Chenda, and followed by a Pancharimelam. Other events throughout the day included a Kuruthola workshop for students, a heritage quiz for high school students, and a Duff Mutt performance by the students of GHSS, Kokkallur. Hundreds attended the festivities.
