**Mumbai, India** – Day 2 of the IPL 2025 mega auction saw a flurry of high-profile signings, with veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar becoming the costliest buy at a staggering ₹10.75 crore, secured by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) after a fierce bidding war with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). The day was dominated by Indian pacers, with Akash Deep (LSG, ₹8 crore), Deepak Chahar (MI, ₹9.25 crore), Mukesh Kumar (DC, ₹8 crore), and Tushar Deshpande (RR, ₹6.50 crore) all fetching significant sums.
However, the auction also saw some surprising omissions. India batter Sarfaraz Khan failed to attract any bids, a stark contrast to his brother Musheer, who was picked up by Punjab Kings (PBKS) for his base price of ₹30 lakh. Another notable snub was pacer Umran Malik, who also went unsold. The uncapped batter Priyansh Arya, who recently hit six sixes in a single match, was a standout performer, purchased by PBKS for ₹3.80 crore.
Day 2 concluded with varying amounts remaining in team purses. RCB retains the most at ₹4.65 crore, while PBKS has the least with ₹1.75 crore. A total of 72 players were sold on Day 1 out of 84 players put up for auction.
