**Jeddah, Saudi Arabia:** The first day of the IPL 2025 mega auction in Jeddah saw a flurry of activity, with franchises splashing out on players to bolster their squads. However, Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore found themselves lagging behind, ending the day with only nine players each. In contrast, Gujarat Titans emerged as the most successful team, adding 14 players to their roster.

A total of 84 players were bid on, with 72 finding new teams and 12 remaining unsold. After the first day, Royal Challengers Bangalore had the most money remaining at ₹30.65 crore, followed by Mumbai Indians (₹26.1 crore) and Punjab Kings (₹22.50 crore).

The auction saw several high-profile players picked up, including the likes of ऋतुराज गायकवाड़, Jasprit Bumrah, Virat Kohli, and Sanju Samson. The minimum squad size for IPL 2025 is 18 players, with a maximum of 25. The auction continues, with Mumbai Indians and RCB needing to significantly strengthen their squads in the coming days.
