**MUMBAI, INDIA** – Sri Lankan spin wizard Wanindu Hasaranga has been snapped up by the Rajasthan Royals for a hefty INR 5.25 crore (approximately USD 636,000) in the IPL 2025 auction. The leg-spinner, whose base price was INR 2 crore, was previously with the Sunrisers Hyderabad but missed IPL 2024 due to injury.
Hasaranga, who has also represented Royal Challengers Bangalore in the past, boasts an impressive IPL record. In 26 matches, he has taken 35 wickets at an economy rate of 8.13 and an average of 21.37. His impressive performances include one four-wicket haul and one five-wicket haul, with a best bowling figure of 5/18.
