**Jeddah, Saudi Arabia:** The first day of the IPL 2025 mega auction concluded in Jeddah, with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) making significant additions to their squads. A total of 72 players, including 24 overseas players, were sold on Day 1, generating a total spend of ₹467.95 crore.

CSK, who retained five players prior to the auction, entered with ₹55 crore in their purse. They spent ₹39.40 crore on seven new players, including three overseas players, six capped players, one uncapped player, and one acquired using their Right to Match card. They have ₹15.60 crore remaining for Day 2.

RCB, who retained three players, started with ₹83 crore. They spent ₹52.35 crore on six new players—three overseas, four capped, and two uncapped—leaving them with ₹30.65 crore for the second day of the auction.

All eyes remain on the teams’ strategies for Day 2, as they continue to build their squads for the upcoming IPL season.
