**Singapore** – A 73-year-old Indian national, Balasubramanian Ramesh, faces seven charges of molestation following alleged incidents on a Singapore Airlines flight from the United States to Singapore on November 18th. The Straits Times reports that Ramesh appeared in a Singapore district court on Monday.
According to court documents, Ramesh is accused of repeatedly molesting one woman four times and allegedly molesting three others once each during the flight. The exact times of the alleged offenses ranged from early morning to late afternoon. The identities of the four women, who may have been passengers or crew, are protected by a gag order.
Ramesh is expected to plead guilty on December 13th. Each count of molestation carries a potential sentence of up to three years in jail, a fine, or caning, or any combination thereof. However, caning is not an option due to Ramesh’s age exceeding 50 years.
