Mon Nov 25 05:40:14 UTC 2024: **Silicon Valley Rally Condemns Violence Against Hindus in Canada and Bangladesh**

MILPITAS, CA – November 25, 2024 – Over 200,000 Indian Americans in the Bay Area rallied at Milpitas City Hall to denounce attacks on Hindus in Canada and Bangladesh. The rally, attended by prominent community leaders, condemned the violence against Hindu minorities and urged U.S. authorities to pressure the Canadian and Bangladeshi governments to protect their Hindu populations.

Participants specifically cited the attack on the Hindu Sabha temple in Brampton, Canada, where Khalistani extremists reportedly assaulted worshippers during Diwali celebrations. The rally attendees alleged police inaction and complicity with the attackers, expressing a loss of faith in the Canadian government’s ability to protect Hindu rights.

Speakers highlighted the attacks as instances of religious persecution and freedom of expression violations. Ramesh Japra of Americans for Hindus and Pushpita Prasad of the Coalition of Hindus of North America (CoHNA) both addressed the rally, emphasizing the global implications of the violence and the need for international accountability. Prasad also raised concerns about the targeting of her team in Canada by Sikhs for Justice, an organization banned in India but active in the US and Canada.

The rally concluded with participants chanting slogans demanding an end to Khalistani and Islamist terrorism and protection for Hindus in Canada and Bangladesh.
