Mon Nov 25 02:41:44 UTC 2024: ## CPI Leader Demands Action Against Adani, Condemns Maharashtra Election Practices
**Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu –** R. Mutharasan, State secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI), has called on the Modi government to arrest Gautam Adani following bribery allegations levied against him by a US court. Speaking to the press on Sunday, Mr. Mutharasan stated that the government’s failure to act would demonstrate a lack of honesty.
Mr. Mutharasan further criticized the Maharashtra government for allegedly preventing Muslim communities from voting in recent elections, characterizing the action as a serious threat to democratic principles. He challenged AIADMK leader Dindigul C. Sreenivasan to name the parties allegedly demanding seats and money in exchange for alliances, dismissing similar accusations against the CPI and CPM as unfounded. All election expenses, he asserted, were transparently reported to the Election Commission.
Looking ahead, Mr. Mutharasan announced upcoming centenary celebrations for CPI stalwarts Nallakannu and poet Tamil Oli in December 2025, reaffirming the party’s commitment to combating communal forces within Tamil Nadu.
