**Madurai, Tamil Nadu –** A Madurai couple was arrested on Sunday for assaulting a 25-year-old woman after a dispute over parking. Shaini Lidiya parked her two-wheeler in front of K. Sakthivelpandian and his wife Ponkodi’s broiler chicken shop. When Ms. Lidiya briefly stepped away, Ponkodi confiscated her bike keys and, following a verbal altercation, allegedly assaulted Ms. Lidiya, pulling her hair, snatching her phone, and confining her to the shop. Sakthivelpandian also prevented Ms. Lidiya from leaving, while Ponkodi continued her verbal and physical attack. Sellur police have booked the couple on charges of assault, wrongful confinement, and using abusive language based on Ms. Lidiya’s complaint.
