Mon Nov 25 15:42:12 UTC 2024: ## Puducherry to Showcase Industrial Prowess at IndEX-2024

**Puducherry, November 25, 2024** – The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will host a two-day exhibition, IndEX-2024, from November 29-30, to highlight Puducherry’s thriving manufacturing sector. Approximately 70 manufacturers will showcase their products and capabilities at the Suganya Convention Centre.

According to CII Chairman V. Shanmuganandam, the expo aims to dispel the misconception that Puducherry’s industrial base is shrinking. He stated that while a few companies may have relocated due to logistical reasons, several others have expanded within the Union Territory, with investments totaling approximately ₹400 crore in recent years. The annual export value from Puducherry-based companies is estimated at ₹3,000 crore.

The exhibition will feature companies from diverse sectors including plastics, pharmaceuticals, general engineering, software, and green energy. Mr. Shanmuganandam emphasized the Union Territory’s role in supplying critical components to major national and international companies, including OLA Electric, Tata Group, TVS Group, Maruti Suzuki, Lucas TVS, and Indian Railways, notably contributing parts for Vande Bharat Express trains.

Metal Scope India Private Limited, a prominent example, has produced key components for over 520 Vande Bharat coaches. The CII vice-chairman, Samir Kamra, described IndEX-2024 as a platform to foster collaboration and drive economic growth in Puducherry. The event underscores the region’s significant contribution to national development.
