Mon Nov 25 03:32:25 UTC 2024: **Anakapalle Tribals Urge Faster Birth Certificate Issuance for APAAR IDs**
ANAKAPALLE, November 25, 2024 – Tribal families in Kalyan Lova village, Anakapalle district, Andhra Pradesh, are appealing to the district administration to expedite the issuance of birth certificates for their school-going children. The delay is hindering the children’s enrollment for APAAR IDs, a crucial identification program.
Thirteen children attending schools in Kothapatnam and Ravikamatam are affected. Discrepancies between birth certificate dates, school records, and Aadhaar card details are causing registration problems for three of these children. While the ASR district administration has ordered a 10-day turnaround for birth certificate issuance, the villagers are requesting the same expedited process be extended to scheduled areas.
The villagers highlighted the common practice of home births in scheduled areas, making obtaining birth certificates a lengthy and costly process. CPI(M) district member K. Govinda Rao stated that this issue affects school children across nine mandals in the district and urged the administration for a swift resolution.
