**Jeddah, Saudi Arabia:** Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has made its first acquisition in the IPL 2025 mega auction, securing England all-rounder Liam Livingstone for ₹8.75 crore. The team faced stiff competition from other franchises for Livingstone, who was previously with Punjab Kings but not retained after a less-than-stellar previous season.
RCB had only retained three players – Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, and Yash Dayal – ahead of the auction. While they bid on other star players like Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, and KL Rahul, the intense competition drove the prices beyond RCB’s budget. For now, Livingstone is their sole addition to the squad.
