**Srikakulam, [Date]:** The Srikakulam district police have intensified their efforts to curb crime by deploying drone cameras to monitor areas prone to illegal activities. The initiative aims to deter anti-social behavior and illegal activities such as public drinking, drug use, and gambling.
Initially implemented in the district headquarters, the drone surveillance has now expanded to include areas such as the Nagavali river basin, Fazulbegpet, Peddarellividhi, Shanthinagar Colony, Balaga, the Arts College vicinity, the DCCB colony, and the RTC Complex. These locations were identified as having a higher potential for criminal activity.
Police are utilizing drone footage to monitor these areas and take proactive measures to prevent crime. A recent operation utilizing drones was conducted in Srikakulam Rural Mandal.
Superintendent of Police K.V. Maheshwara Reddy stated that the drone program will soon expand to other parts of the district. The police department believes this technology will significantly improve crime prevention and enhance public safety.
