Sun Nov 24 16:53:39 UTC 2024: ## Zimbabwe Stun Pakistan in Rain-Shortened ODI

**HARARE, ZIMBABWE** – Zimbabwe pulled off a stunning upset victory over Pakistan in a rain-affected One Day International (ODI) match today. Zimbabwe, after posting a first innings total of 205 all out in 40.2 overs, restricted Pakistan to 60/6 in 21 overs before rain brought an early end to the game. The Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method was used to determine the final result, awarding Zimbabwe an 80-run victory.

Richard Ngarava (48) and Sikandar Raza (39) were the top scorers for Zimbabwe in their first innings, while Pakistan’s bowling attack was led by Faisal Akram, who took 3 wickets for 24 runs.

Pakistan’s chase never truly got going. Mohammad Rizwan (19) top-scored for the visitors, but wickets fell regularly. Blessing Muzarabani (2/9) and Sean Williams (2/12) were particularly effective for Zimbabwe, dismantling the Pakistani batting lineup. The early loss of Haseebullah Khan for a duck and regular wickets, put a huge pressure on the chasing team and they could never recover the lost momentum.

The rain, which arrived late in the Pakistan innings, ultimately proved decisive, cutting short what was shaping up to be a remarkable Zimbabwean win. The final score, determined by the DLS method, confirmed an improbable victory for the hosts.
