**Bengaluru, India –** The 17th edition of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, India’s premier domestic T20 tournament, begins this Saturday, November 23rd, with 18 first-round matches across the country. The tournament features 38 teams divided into five groups, with a round-robin format leading to a knockout stage.
High-profile players are set to feature prominently. Sanju Samson, fresh off a remarkable international run with three T20I centuries in his last five innings, will captain Kerala. He led Kerala to the quarterfinals last year and will be hoping to go further this year, beginning their campaign against Services in Hyderabad. Meanwhile, Sandeep Sharma, joint-highest wicket-taker for Chandigarh in the 2023 tournament, will again spearhead their bowling attack. Both Samson and Sharma were retained by the Rajasthan Royals for the upcoming IPL season.
The tournament will culminate in the final at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on December 15th, with quarterfinals in Alur and Bengaluru on December 11th and semifinals on December 13th. Select matches will be live-streamed on Jio Cinema and televised on Sports18 Khel TV in India.
