Sat Nov 23 15:03:55 UTC 2024: ## AAP Celebrates Punjab Bypoll Sweep, Mixed Results for INDIA Bloc

**Chandigarh/New Delhi, [Date]** – The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has hailed its victory in three out of four Punjab Assembly by-elections as a resounding endorsement of the Bhagwant Mann government and party leader Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership. Senior AAP leader Raghav Chadha attributed the wins in Chabbewal, Gidderbaha, and Dera Baba Nanak—constituencies AAP had never previously won—to the government’s performance over the past two and a half years.

“The people have given a stamp of approval to the work done by our government,” Chadha told ANI. He noted that while a significant AAP victory was seen in the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections, these particular seats remained elusive until now. Chadha also pointed out that AAP narrowly missed winning the fourth seat, Barnala.

While celebrating the Punjab wins, Chadha acknowledged mixed results for the INDIA alliance, describing the situation as “happiness in one place, sadness in the other” (*kahin khushi, kahin gham*). He highlighted the INDIA alliance’s loss in Maharashtra to the Eknath Shinde government and its coalition, contrasting it with its retention of power in Jharkhand. Chadha attributed the Jharkhand victory to the rejection of “vendetta politics” and expressed hope that this would bolster governance-focused politics. He added that the Maharashtra results will be further analyzed before any conclusions are drawn.
