Sun Nov 24 02:40:00 UTC 2024: ## Inter Milan Crushes Verona 5-0, Takes Provisional Serie A Lead

**VERONA, Italy** – Inter Milan dominated Hellas Verona in a resounding 5-0 victory Saturday, seizing the top spot in Serie A, at least temporarily. All five goals were scored in a breathtaking first-half performance.

Joaquin Correa opened the scoring at the 17-minute mark, initiating a flurry of goals. Marcus Thuram quickly followed with a brace, while Stefan de Vrij and Yann Bisseck also added their names to the scoresheet. Thuram’s performance pushed him to second place in the Serie A top scorer rankings with nine goals.

Verona, despite early chances including a shot off the bar and a save from Inter goalkeeper Yann Sommer, were unable to withstand Inter’s offensive onslaught. The Milan side’s five-first-half goals mark only their second such achievement in Serie A history.

The win propels Inter to 28 points from 13 matches, two points ahead of Napoli, who face AS Roma on Sunday. Verona, meanwhile, sits 14th with 12 points after suffering their fifth defeat in six league games. Inter now turns its attention to a Champions League clash against RB Leipzig on Tuesday.
