**VISAKHAPATNAM, Andhra Pradesh – November 24, 2024** – The long-awaited South Coast Railway (SCoR) Zone, headquartered in Visakhapatnam, is moving closer to reality. The East Coast Railway has issued e-tenders for the construction of the General Manager’s office complex in Visakhapatnam, signaling the commencement of the project.

The tender, published on the social media platform X by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, calls for bids by December 27, 2024. A pre-bid conference is scheduled for December 2nd, with bidding commencing on December 13th. The estimated cost of the two-basement, ten-story complex is ₹149.16 crore.

This development follows an RTI response from the Railway Board on November 19th, stating that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the SCoR Zone was under review and that 52.2 acres of land in Mudasarolva had been allocated by the Andhra Pradesh government.
