**New Delhi, November 24, 2024** – Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal has declared the party’s recent Punjab bypoll wins a strong indicator of an upcoming victory in the Delhi Assembly elections. AAP secured three out of four seats in the bypolls, bolstering their confidence after a less successful showing in the state’s Lok Sabha elections earlier this year.

Kejriwal, speaking alongside Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, urged Delhi AAP workers to replicate the party’s previous successes in the 2015 and 2020 Assembly elections, where they won 67 and 62 seats respectively. He attributed the party’s popularity to its governance model, which includes initiatives such as free bus rides for women and improved access to education and healthcare. He noted that even BJP-ruled states are now adopting similar policies.

However, Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva countered that Delhi voters are leaning towards a “double engine” government (BJP at both state and national levels), citing the recent NDA victory in Maharashtra as evidence.
