**Bengaluru, India (Nov 24, 2024)** – The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) made a splash on the first day of the mega auction, securing England’s explosive wicketkeeper-batsman, Phil Salt, for a staggering 11.5 crore rupees. This acquisition follows a fierce bidding war with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), who had previously employed Salt and were reportedly willing to pay up to 11.25 crore to retain him.
Salt, who burst onto the IPL scene in 2023 with Delhi Capitals, impressed with a strike rate exceeding 160 and a total of 218 runs in his debut season. Despite his strong performance, he was released by Delhi Capitals. He then joined KKR in 2024, scoring 435 runs in 12 matches, including four half-centuries.
