AUBURN, AL — Former Alabama football coach Nick Saban, now an ESPN analyst, issued a playful yet ominous warning to Texas A&M ahead of their game against Auburn at Jordan-Hare Stadium this Saturday. Saban, who coached against Auburn for 17 seasons, claims the stadium is haunted, citing memorable and often heartbreaking losses for the Crimson Tide, including the infamous “Kick Six” in 2013.
“I would be alerting Texas A&M, because, in my opinion, 17 years going to Auburn and playing at Jordan-Hare, that place is haunted,” Saban said. He referenced both the “Kick Six” – a last-second, game-winning return of a missed field goal – and another devastating loss last year as evidence of the stadium’s purported supernatural influence.
While Saban’s Alabama teams ultimately held a winning record in the Iron Bowl rivalry (12-5 overall), their record at Jordan-Hare Stadium was less impressive (5-4). The upcoming Iron Bowl, scheduled for November 30th, will be played at Alabama’s Bryant-Denny Stadium, giving the Crimson Tide home-field advantage this year. The rivalry returns to Jordan-Hare in 2025. Texas A&M will be hoping to defy Saban’s spooky prediction and secure a crucial win to keep their playoff hopes alive.
