**Nagpur, Maharashtra –** Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole secured a narrow victory in the Sakoli Assembly constituency, retaining his seat by a mere 208 votes in Saturday’s election results. Patole defeated BJP’s Avinash Brahmankar, who trailed closely behind with 96,587 votes to Patole’s 96,795. The win comes amidst a sweeping victory for the ruling Mahayuti alliance in the state elections.

The Election Commission announced the results on Saturday, revealing a decisive win for the Mahayuti – comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction), and NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) – who secured 233 seats. The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), led by the Congress, secured only 49 seats in the 288-member Assembly. Independent candidate Somadatta Karanjekar received 18,309 votes, while Vanchit Bahujan Aaghadi’s Dr Avinash Nanhe garnered 11,188 votes. Patole’s slim margin highlights the close contest in Sakoli despite the overall landslide victory for the Mahayuti.
