**Chennai, November 24, 2024** – The Laghu Udyog Bharati (LUB), a national organization supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs), has partnered with the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) to facilitate technology transfer across India. This collaboration has already resulted in 57 technology transfers in the past two months, with over half originating from Tamil Nadu and a significant portion from women entrepreneurs.

LUB’s All India General Secretary, Om Prakash Gupta, announced these figures at the MSME Sangamam 2024. He highlighted the organization’s presence across 27 states and 583 districts, representing 4,000 members, including a substantial 3,500 women entrepreneurs. Further technology transfers are in the pipeline, signaling continued growth in this sector.

In a video address, Chief Economic Advisor V. Anantha Nageswaran emphasized the challenges faced by India’s SME sector due to excessive regulations and compliance burdens. He stressed the need for a more supportive regulatory environment to encourage growth and ambition among entrepreneurs, urging both policymakers and the industry to adopt a broader perspective to overcome these hurdles.
