**Jeddah, Saudi Arabia –** The Indian Premier League (IPL) Mega Auction 2025 is set to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 24-25. A total of 577 players will go under the hammer, three more than initially anticipated. The addition of Jofra Archer, Hardik Tamore, and Saurabh Netravalkar brings the total to 367 Indian players, 209 overseas players, and 4 from Associate Nations.

With 204 slots available across all teams – including 70 for overseas players – a significant bidding war is expected. The auction will determine the rosters for the upcoming 18th season of the IPL in 2025.

**Record Spending Anticipated:** Past auctions have seen escalating spending, with the 2024 auction exceeding ₹200 crore (approximately $24 million USD) for the first time. While the inaugural 2008 auction saw $36.43 million USD spent, the expenditure has grown exponentially over the years, reaching ₹557 crore (approximately $67 million USD) in the 2022 mega auction. This year’s auction is predicted to break previous records due to increased team budgets and new rules like the Right to Match (RTM).

The auction will begin at 3 PM on November 24th and will be broadcast live on Star Sports in India, and streamed on JioCinema’s app and website.
