Sat Nov 23 20:27:15 UTC 2024: ## IPL 2025 Mega Auction Set for Jeddah: 577 Players Vie for 204 Spots

**JEDDAH, SAUDI ARABIA –** The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction is set to take place in Jeddah on November 24th and 25th, featuring 577 players – 210 overseas and 367 Indian – vying for 204 slots across the ten franchises. The auction, to be televised by Star Sports Network and livestreamed on Jio Cinemas, will begin at 3:30 PM IST (1:00 PM local time) each day.

A total of 1574 players initially registered, but the list was eventually pruned. The Punjab Kings hold the largest purse at INR 110.5 crore, while the Rajasthan Royals have the smallest with INR 41 crore. Interestingly, defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders and the Rajasthan Royals lack Right to Match cards after retaining six players each. Last season’s runners-up, Sunrisers Hyderabad, possess a purse of INR 45 crore.

The age range of players is remarkable, with 42-year-old James Anderson, recently retired from international cricket, representing the veteran end, and 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a member of India’s U19 setup, at the younger extreme. The auction schedule includes sessions from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM IST, followed by a 45-minute break, and resuming until 10:30 PM IST. The event promises high drama as teams look to build their squads for the upcoming season.
