Sun Nov 24 14:30:27 UTC 2024: ## Wheelchair Left Behind: IndiGo Passenger Faces Inconvenience at Delhi Airport
**New Delhi, November 24, 2024** – A 35-year-old wheelchair-bound passenger, Kadam Khatun, experienced significant inconvenience after her wheelchair was left behind in Ahmedabad during a connecting IndiGo flight from Bengaluru to Delhi on Sunday.
Ms. Khatun, who works for a Bengaluru-based NGO, embarked on her journey at 1:08 a.m. from Bengaluru, arriving in Ahmedabad at 3:12 a.m. After boarding her connecting flight to Delhi, she discovered upon arrival at 6:05 a.m. that her wheelchair had been left behind.
While IndiGo provided a replacement wheelchair and arranged for breakfast and accommodation near Delhi Airport’s Terminal 3 at Ms. Khatun’s request, the incident caused considerable disruption. Her own wheelchair was only returned around 2:30 p.m.
In a statement, IndiGo acknowledged the incident, stating that the wheelchair was mistakenly left in Ahmedabad but was transported on the next available flight to Delhi. The airline emphasized its commitment to providing hassle-free service to all passengers. While the airline provided assistance, the incident highlights concerns about the handling of passenger needs, particularly those with disabilities, during connecting flights.
