**Kolkata, India – November 24, 2024** – The Common Admission Test (CAT 2024), the gateway to postgraduate management programs at India’s prestigious Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and other business schools, is being held today across various centers. Administered by IIM Calcutta this year, the exam commenced at different slots throughout the day.
Candidates arrived at designated exam venues carrying their admit cards and necessary documentation. Those who hadn’t yet downloaded their admit cards could access them via iimcat.ac.in. The three-section exam – Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability (QA/Quants) – lasts 120 minutes, with 40 minutes allocated to each section. Switching between sections is prohibited.
Results are expected to be released during the second week of January 2025. While a passing CAT score is a crucial requirement for IIM admissions, it’s not a guarantee of acceptance. Successful candidates will still need to participate in further selection rounds determined by individual IIMs. Aspirants are urged to consult the official IIM websites for detailed information on the admission process.
