NOIDA, India (PTI) – The Gujarat Giants secured a hard-fought 31-28 victory over the Telugu Titans in a nail-biting Pro Kabaddi League match on Saturday. Parteek Dahiya’s second consecutive Super 10 (10 or more points) performance, despite Vijay Malik’s impressive 15-point contribution for the Titans, proved decisive.
Both teams started strongly, with their raiders scoring early points. However, strong defensive plays kept the score close initially. Dahiya’s crucial do-or-die raids in the first quarter gave the Giants an early advantage, further boosted by Guman Singh’s two-point raid. Malik, however, single-handedly kept the Titans in the game, achieving his own Super 10 in the first half, culminating in a 17-15 Telugu Titans lead at halftime thanks to a super raid by Ashish Narwal.
The second half saw a back-and-forth battle. Dahiya’s two-point raid and an all-out inflicted on the Titans put the Giants back in the lead. Malik continued to impress, but the Giants, led by Dahiya’s consistent scoring, maintained a narrow lead in the final minutes. A crucial tackle by Ajit Pawar brought the Titans level with just two minutes left. However, a super tackle on Malik in the dying seconds secured a two-point lead for the Giants, sealing their third win of the season.
