**Dębica, Poland** – The Polish women’s U16 volleyball team secured a hard-fought victory over Lithuania in the final of the Eastern European Volleyball Zonal Association (EEVZA) U16 Championship, earning their place in the upcoming European Championship.

The Polish team dominated their group stage matches, easily defeating Georgia and Latvia. Their performance set up a final showdown against Lithuania, who topped Group B after overcoming Ukraine, Estonia, and Georgia.

The final match was a closely contested affair. While Lithuania put up a strong defense and launched effective counter-attacks, particularly in the opening stages, Poland’s experience and strategic play proved decisive. Aleksandra Wika led the Polish team with 21 points and a 71% attack success rate, earning her the title of best player of the match. Strong serving and smart attacking choices from Wika and Zuzanna Lange, supported by Elżbieta Czerwonka’s consistent performance, ultimately carried Poland to victory in three sets (25-19, 25-13, 25-22). The Polish team showed resilience, overcoming a tense final set where Lithuania fought back to tie the score before Poland ultimately secured the win.

Earlier in the day, Estonia defeated Georgia for fifth place, and Ukraine claimed bronze after defeating Latvia.

Coach Maciej Dobrowolski expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance and achievement, stating that direct qualification was their goal, which they successfully accomplished in Dębica. The victory ensures Poland’s participation in the upcoming European U16 Championships.
