**New Delhi, November 24, 2024** – The main suspect in the fatal stabbing of Delhi Police Constable Kiran Pal was shot dead in an encounter with police in south Delhi’s Sangam Vihar area on Sunday. Constable Pal was stabbed on Saturday while on night patrol in Govindpuri.
Two other suspects, Deepak Max and Krish Gupta, were arrested earlier. The third suspect, Raghav, who allegedly wielded the knife, was located in Sangam Vihar. Police say he opened fire on officers who responded in self-defense, resulting in his death at ESIC Hospital, Okhla. A pistol and two cartridges were recovered. No police officers were injured.
The incident followed an attempt by the three suspects to evade arrest after being stopped on a scooter. They threw stones at Constable Pal, who managed to stop their vehicle. During questioning, Raghav allegedly stabbed the constable.
