Sun Nov 24 07:06:25 UTC 2024: ## Delhi Air Quality Improves Slightly, but Remains ‘Very Poor’
**New Delhi, November 24, 2024** – Delhi’s air quality, which has been hazardous for nearly a month, saw a slight improvement on Sunday morning. The Air Quality Index (AQI) dropped from a “severe” level on Saturday to “very poor” on Sunday, reaching 357 at 8 a.m. However, some areas, such as Anand Vihar, remained in the “severe” category with an AQI of 404.
The improvement follows a period of consistently poor air quality, starting with “very poor” conditions on October 30th and reaching “severe” levels last week. While favorable winds provided temporary relief on Thursday, the AQI deteriorated again on Friday and Saturday before the slight improvement on Sunday.
The “severe” air quality poses significant health risks, particularly due to high levels of PM2.5, which can cause long-term health problems. The India Meteorological Department forecast shallow fog and a high humidity level of 75% for Sunday. The minimum temperature was recorded at 12 degrees Celsius, with a maximum expected around 28 degrees Celsius. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.
