HYDERABAD, INDIA – November 24, 2024 – Fifty corporations have partnered with the Telangana government to adopt tribal villages in a new initiative aimed at boosting rural development. The “One Corporate, One Village Adoption” program, spearheaded by Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka), will leverage Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds to address critical needs in underserved areas.

The program, guided by NGO Nirmaan, will focus on four key areas: skill development and livelihoods, infrastructure development, healthcare, and education. Initiatives include training for women’s self-help groups and unemployed youth, improvements to schools and healthcare facilities, and the introduction of STEM community halls and digital classrooms.

The program will initially focus on Mulugu district, expanding later to Chenchu-dominated areas in the erstwhile Mahabubnagar district, and Gond and Kollam tribal regions in the erstwhile Adilabad district. Baseline studies are underway to determine specific village needs, with input gathered directly from residents. Minister Seethakka emphasized the importance of directing attention to marginalized communities often overlooked by development programs. The program is currently underway in LB Nagar and Manya Tanda villages.
