**Guwahati, Assam –** Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has called on the newly re-elected JMM-led government in Jharkhand to prioritize the identification and deportation of infiltrators. Following the JMM alliance’s resounding victory in the recent state elections, securing 56 out of 81 assembly seats, Sarma, who served as BJP’s co-in-charge for the Jharkhand polls, emphasized the seriousness of the infiltration issue.

In a Facebook Live session on Saturday night, Sarma stated that infiltration poses a significant threat to Jharkhand and urged the JMM government to fulfill its constitutional duty to address the problem. He also appealed to newly elected BJP MLAs to raise the issue within the Jharkhand Assembly, leveraging their role in the opposition.

Despite the BJP’s defeat, securing only 24 seats, Sarma expressed his determination to continue addressing the infiltration issue. He viewed the election outcome as a learning experience, stating that setbacks serve as a foundation for future success. He acknowledged the support received during his four-month campaign in Jharkhand.
