Before his time in Boston, Montgomery served as head coach of the Dallas Stars and spent two seasons as an assistant coach with the Blues (2020-22), contributing to a strong regular-season record for the team. His coaching career also includes successful stints at the collegiate level, culminating in an NCAA National Championship with the University of Denver in 2017. He even boasts a 12-year playing career, including time in the NHL with the Blues.
Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong expressed confidence in Montgomery’s ability to lead the team to success. The five-year contract reflects the organization’s commitment to building a winning future under his leadership.
