**New Delhi, November 24, 2024** – A Delhi court has summoned two former police officers to testify in the ongoing 1984 anti-Sikh riots case against Congress leader Jagdish Tytler. The officers, Dharam Chandrasekar and Ravi Sharma, have been ordered to appear in court on December 2nd.

The case centers on the killings of three Sikhs at Gurdwara Pul Bangash during the riots. On November 12th, the court recorded the statement of Lakhvinder Kaur, widow of one of the victims, Badal Singh, a musician at the gurdwara. Charges of murder and other offenses were framed against Mr. Tytler on September 13th.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is investigating the case, alleges that Mr. Tytler incited the mob that led to the killings. Their chargesheet cites a witness who claims to have seen Mr. Tytler emerge from a white car near the gurdwara on November 1st, 1984, and instigate the violence.

Mr. Tytler was granted anticipatory bail last August under certain conditions, including a personal bond and a restriction on leaving the country without permission. The court proceedings continue.
