Sun Nov 24 00:17:07 UTC 2024: ## Bokaro Vote Counting Underway Amidst Tight Security

**Bokaro, November 23:** The counting of votes for the four assembly constituencies of Bokaro district – Gomia, Bermo, Bokaro, and Chandankiyari – began at 8 am today at the Chas ITI Market Committee premises. The district administration has completed all preparations for a smooth and secure counting process.

Votes are being counted in separate halls for each constituency. Post-ballot counting commenced first, followed by EVM counting at 8:30 am. Bokaro constituency’s counting is expected to take the longest, with 24 rounds, while Gomia and Bermo will have 18 rounds each, and Chandankiyari the least, with 15 rounds. Each table will have three counting officials. Bokaro will utilize 25 counting tables, while the other three constituencies will use 20 each.

Security is extremely tight at and around the counting venue, with a large police presence and barriers in place to prevent unauthorized entry. This heightened security is a response to incidents during previous elections. Strict action will be taken against anyone attempting to disrupt the peace.

Political parties have set up tents near the Chas ITI, where supporters are awaiting the results. The fate of 46 candidates across the four constituencies will be decided today. The unexpectedly strong showing of the Jharkhand Loktantrik Morcha (JLM) is making it difficult for other parties to predict the outcome.
