**Mumbai, [Date]** – Union Minister Ramdas Athawale attributed the MahaYuti’s sweeping victory in the Maharashtra Assembly elections to the success of the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana and the Maha Vikas Aghadi’s (MVA) allegedly negative campaigning. Athawale, whose Republican Party of India (A) is part of the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA), claimed the MVA’s strategy of attacking rivals, particularly Prime Minister Narendra Modi, backfired.
The Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, providing eligible women with a monthly financial assistance of Rs 1,500, played a significant role in the win, Athawale stated. He expressed surprise at the MahaYuti exceeding 200 seats, crediting Prime Minister Modi’s development initiatives for attracting support across demographics.
Athawale sharply criticized the MVA’s campaign tactics, arguing their constant attacks on the MahaYuti, including frequent accusations against Chief Minister Eknath Shinde by Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut, alienated voters. He dismissed the MVA’s attempts to frame the election as a religious conflict (“Vote Jihad” and “Dharam yudh”) as unsuccessful.
The minister also revealed that the BJP had already promised his party a cabinet post and an MLC seat before the election results were announced. He further rebuked the MVA for questioning the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), highlighting their previous acceptance of EVM results when favorable.
Finally, Athawale confirmed that there were no internal conflicts within the MahaYuti regarding the Chief Minister’s position, expecting a resolution by Sunday.
