**KOTTAYAM, Kerala – November 23, 2024** – Mahatma Gandhi University in Kottayam is set to launch Kerala’s first Advanced Knowledge and Rural Technology Implementation (AKRUTI) Centre in collaboration with the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC). The two institutions will sign a memorandum of understanding on Monday.
The new center, operating under the university’s Business Innovation and Incubation Centre (BIIC), aims to bridge the gap between scientific advancements and rural development by making cutting-edge technologies accessible and affordable to the public.
The AKRUTI Centre will offer 12 state-of-the-art technologies focusing on agriculture, waste management, clean water supply, and food processing. Individuals, organizations, farmers, industrial units, and professionals will be eligible to license these technologies and receive support for establishing ventures and marketing products.
