**KOCHI, KERALA – NOVEMBER 24, 2024** – The Kerala state government is actively considering a land pooling model for the development of Infopark Phase 3, according to Industries Minister P. Rajeeve. Speaking at the inauguration of a national workshop on Kerala Land Pooling Rules, 2024, Mr. Rajeeve highlighted the importance of Information Technology to Kerala’s economy and Kochi’s central role within it.

The land pooling model is being explored as a solution to the challenges of land acquisition in the densely populated state, where high land values and ecological concerns pose significant obstacles. The Kerala Land Pooling Rules, already passed by the State Assembly, would facilitate this approach, requiring the full cooperation of landowners. Successful implementation at Infopark, Mr. Rajeeve stated, could serve as a model for the entire state. The workshop was jointly organized by Infopark and the Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA).
