Sat Nov 23 08:00:00 UTC 2024: ## Kamal Haasan’s ‘Amaran’ to Stream on Netflix; OTT Rights Sold for a Reported ₹60 Crore
**Chennai, India** – The critically acclaimed Tamil film “Amaran,” starring Siva Karthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, is set to make its OTT debut on Netflix. Trade sources report that the streaming rights were sold for a whopping ₹60 crore by producer Kamal Haasan’s Raj Kamal International. This includes rights for Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi versions.
While this is a significant amount for a Siva Karthikeyan film, it’s comparatively lower than other recent Tamil blockbusters like “Veetla Vishesham” (₹90 crore), Ajith’s “Vedhalam” (₹100 crore), and Vijay’s “Beast” (₹110 crore).
Based on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, a decorated soldier who died in a 2014 counter-terrorism operation in Kashmir, “Amaran” received positive reviews upon its theatrical release on October 31st. The film, directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, is particularly praised for Sai Pallavi’s powerful performance. Siva Karthikeyan also garnered appreciation for his portrayal of the titular character.
The film is expected to begin streaming on Netflix either November 29th or December 5th. The exact date is yet to be officially confirmed by Netflix or the production team.
